Social Studies Certificate Presentation (26-11-2012)

Social Studies Certificate Presentation
Community Healthy Living Centre

A certificate celebration took place on Thursday 22nd November'12 with a group of people from the CPLN area that completed a FETAC Level 5 module in Social Studies. This course took place over 8 weeks and was held in Neilstown Community Centre in Clondalkin. The course was facilitated by Christine Murray from CAN (Community Action Network) and Anne Troy from Clondalkin Community Healthy Living Centre (A CPLN Initiative).

The Healthy Living Centre endeavours to provide education/training activities to highlight the causes of poor health in the community. The centre encourages community participation in decisions that affect the health and wellbeing of people and is a catalyst for collective action on those issues. To date the centre has provided FETAC level 5 modules in Community Development Approaches to Health and The Social Determinants of Health and hopes to continue this work into 2013. For further information on the activities taking place in the centre please contact Anne Troy Ph: 01 4570665 or e-mail atroy@cpln.ie
